A licensed public hire insured taxi driver in Wyre has had his licence revoked. The licensing committee revoked his licence fearing of possible attacks on his passengers from the taxi driver.
The Hackney Carriage taxi driver has been not named and has been summoned to attend a court hearing on 5th August 2009.
The taxi insurance driver referred to as Mr. O to protect his identity had his licence revoked after Wyre police department stated that there were certain concerns regarding this taxi driver.
The taxi licence has been revoked with immediate effect. The licensing committee members had concerns regarding Mr. O’s behavior and his aggressive nature. It was thought that there maybe potential danger to his passengers.
In a sperate incident in Abingdon a taxi driver was assaulted and robbed by a group of 7 men he had taxied.
