Private hire taxi insurance drivers in Birmingham have met with the police for discussions regarding the safety of the private hire drivers in the borough.
M Arshad, a licensed taxi driver was stabbed whilst working his shift. Following his death the private hire drivers have met with the police and voiced their concerns over safety issues.
The private hire cabbies requested for clearer communication channels between the police and the taxi operators to be established. Drivers are reluctant to approach the police and feel isolated and want greater assurances for their safety.
